Support programs for your IT security
The German federal government and most states currently offer support programs for the digitalization of companies. Subsidies for secure digitalization are often also components of these programs. For further information, please contact the respective contact person for the support program directly.
BMWi: German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi): The support program ‘go-digital’ is intended for small and medium-sized enterprises from the commercial or trade industries, who would like to digitalize their processes. Support is provided not only towards optimization and the development of the modules ‘Digitalized Business Processes’, ‘Digital Market Development‘, and ‘IT Security’, but also through measures that protect the company from the loss of sensitive data. How to benefit from the BMWi’s support program and further information on applying can be found on the BMWi’s webpages.
Bavaria: The Bavarian government has managed to mobilize funding in excess of the previous budget. The support program ‘Digitalbonus’ is meant to help mainly small and medium-sized companies become well equipped for the challenges of the digital world. With this ‘Digitalbonus’, the state of Bavaria hopes to improve both the development through hard- and software, and of IT security in companies. The support program will run until 31 December 2020. For further information, please visit the webpages of digitalbonus.bayern.
Bremen: Digitalization is complex, and many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) need expert support in various areas of digitalization, such as big data, IT security, or the cloud. The state of Bremen’s “Consultation Program on Digitalization and Work 4.0” covers 50% of consulting fees up to a maximum amount of EUR 5,000. You can read more on how to benefit from the state of Bremen’s funding here.
Hesse: The Ministry for Economic Affairs of the state of Hesse offers a range of funding opportunities especially intended for the digitalization of the economy. For example, small and medium-sized companies, self-employed persons, and freelance workers can benefit with immediate effect from state funded consultation on the digitalization of business processes, as well as products and services. You can read more on how to apply for funding for your company on the webpages of RKW-Hessen.
NRW: The state of North Rhine-Westphalia offers an ‘Innovation Voucher’ to small and medium-sized companies, and enables access at reduced prices to infrastructure for and expert advice on the development of new products, processes, and services. A percentage of the costs for external consultation, research, and development services is reimbursed - up to 50 percent of the costs for medium-sized companies, and up to 80 percent for small companies. For further information, please visit www.ptj.de/innovationsgutschein.
Saxony: ‘Mittelstandsrichtlinie’ (Standard for Medium-Sized Companies) - When it comes to designing work processes in the digital age, it is often the case that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) do not have access to the financial resources necessary for improving existing operational processes with the help of modern, IT-supported tools. Prepare your company for the future, and find out more about funding here.
Saarland: The Ministry for Economy, Labour, Energy, and Transport of the state of Saarland has set up the support program “Digital-Starter-Saar”, through which grants are awarded to SMEs with the intention of digitally transforming their products, processes, services, and improving IT security. The goal is to raise the level of digitalization in the state of Saarland, and to strengthen the local economic structure. Find out more at Impulses for Medium-Sized Companies.
